Terms of Service - FictionLab AI

These Terms of Service set out the agreement between you and FictionLab AI when you use this website and its companion conversations.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By using fictionlab-ai.com you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please stop using FictionLab AI.
2. Eligibility
The service is available only to individuals aged 18 or over who have full legal capacity to enter a contract.
3. Fictional characters
Every companion published by FictionLab AI is a fictional character. Names, portraits and biographies do not depict real individuals or events.
4. Nature of the service
FictionLab AI provides entertainment conversation. It is not a counselling, medical, legal or financial service and must not be relied on as one.
5. Emergencies
If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional. A companion cannot help in an emergency.
6. Account registration
Where an account is required, you must supply accurate details and keep your credentials confidential.
7. Account security
You are responsible for activity carried out under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to use FictionLab AI for unlawful purposes, harassment, or to attempt to generate material involving minors or non-consenting persons.
9. Prohibited technical activity
Scraping, reverse engineering, automated access, load testing and attempts to bypass security controls are not permitted.
10. User content
You keep ownership of what you write and grant FictionLab AI a limited licence to process it in order to operate the service.
11. Content moderation
We may review, filter or block content that violates these terms or applicable law, and may suspend accounts responsible for it.
12. Intellectual property
Character designs, portraits, written biographies, site copy, layout and code are owned by FictionLab AI or its licensors.
13. Licence to you
You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the service for private, non-commercial purposes.
14. Third-party services
Some features rely on third parties. Their availability is outside our control and their own terms may apply.
15. Pricing and payment
Where paid features exist, prices and billing terms are shown before purchase and no charge is made without confirmation.
16. Subscriptions and renewal
Subscription plans renew until cancelled. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
17. Refunds
Refund requests are reviewed individually and honoured where required by applicable consumer law.
18. Free features
Free access may be limited, changed or withdrawn at any time without prior notice.
19. Availability
We aim for continuous availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance and outages can occur.
20. Changes to the service
Companions, features and site sections may be added, modified or retired as FictionLab AI develops.
21. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and you may stop using the service at any time.
22. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided on an as-is and as-available basis without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law.
23. Limitation of liability
FictionLab AI is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from use of the service.
24. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify FictionLab AI against claims arising from your misuse of the service or breach of these terms.
25. Privacy
Use of the service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
26. Communications
We may send service messages relating to security, billing or important changes. These are not marketing messages.
27. Force majeure
Neither party is liable for failures caused by events beyond reasonable control, including outages, conflict or natural events.
28. Assignment
You may not transfer your rights under these terms. FictionLab AI may assign them as part of a reorganisation or sale of assets.
29. Severability
If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
30. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws applicable at the operator's place of establishment, and disputes are handled by the competent courts there.
31. Changes to these terms
Updated terms are published on this page. Continued use after publication means you accept the revised version.
